My husband and I live on 100 acres of woods on a Tree Farm. Our upstate New York woods inspire my representational landscapes, painted in Watercolor, Pastel, Oil or
Acrylic. Hopefully, my paintings motivate a deeper appreciation of the natural world. My goal is to use my connection to woodlands to inspire others to seek out adventure and take a closer look
at nature. In a stressful world, don't we all need to find our own special place?
Always interested in Art, Architecture and Gardens, I earned my Graphic Design degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Successfully employed for many years as
a Layout Artist, I designed newspaper ads, TV storyboards & posters. While I continue to hone my skills with art classes at Rochester Institute of Technology; Memorial Art Gallery and many
painting workshops, by day I'm employed as a Substitute Teacher. I teach art classes at a local library and for art groups.
My specialty called "HOME PORTRAITS" are commission paintings of lovely homes & gardens, farms or historic buildings. To date, I've illustrated two book covers;
one a non-fiction the other a fiction novel. Customers comment VanDeusen Design paintings relax and calm them with expressive, tranquil scenes, which can be found in homes & offices
internationally as well as across the United States.
